A WORD FROM OUR DIRECTOR
Dear Clubs, Coaches, Parents and Players,My name is Ron Alber and I am the Director and Founder of the Intense Soccer Academy (ISA). In 1994, I established the Intense Soccer Academy (ISA) with the hopes and dreams of (1) creating the best training program available to our local players here in New York and (2) establishing a proud family of players that would continue long into the future where their love and pride for the game would be passed from generation to generation. Through the trials, obstacles and learning experiences, the Intense Soccer Academy (ISA) has continued to grow, develop and foster my hopes and dreams.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure and privilege of playing and coaching the game at a variety of levels. As a player, I played for local Long Island Clubs like the Commack Soccer League, HBC Soccer Club and Cold Spring Harbor Soccer Club that competed in various premier level events, participated in the Long Island Select Program, and was blessed with multiple opportunities to travel, train and play competitively abroad in Europe. This is where I learned the true meaning of “heart and desire”, “humility” and “dedication”. As a coach, I have been fortunate enough to have coached so many very talented players and watched them progress (a) up the youth ranks of soccer, (b) in their own respective social communities, (c) through the State, Regional and National ODP teams, and (d) within our own Academy structure.
In developing my program, I wanted to differentiate what we were offering from what everyone else is offering. I wanted to provide something that made us extra special. To date, I think that extra special something is evidenced and displayed in our most prized and precious jewels…our players and teams. Players like William Hall (member of Men’s US National Team), CJ Ludemann (member of Girls US National Team), and teams like Commack FC Copa (nationally recognized premier team and 4 time state champion), ISA Black (2003 GU17 National Champions), and a long list of others are the true essence and embodiment of all that we, the Intense Soccer Academy (ISA), believe in and strive for. They set the standard for all others to follow. In developing our "Academy motto", there seemed to be so many things we could say but there was clearly one statement that fit best "IT TAKES HEART & DESIRE TO EXPERIENCE SUCCESS." Perhaps that simple sentence is what separates our teams and players from the rest.
At this time, I would like to give special thanks and praise to the true pioneers and horses that have forged the Intense Soccer Academy (ISA) forward, namely my two brothers Michael and Mark Alber, long-time coach, friend and mentor Nick Iadanza, my parents, and all those families and players that believed and continue to believe in what we stand for. I hope that you too can become part of our family.
