ACADEMY TEAMS STRUCTURE

INTENSE SOCCER ACADEMY (ISA) trains, coaches and manages a wide array of teams ranging from the club’s grass roots programs for players ages as young as 6 years old through nationally competitive club team’s which are referred to as our ACADEMY teams. All of our GIRLS ACADEMY teams are recognized with the INTENSE name and are presently hosted within several soccer clubs across Long Island.

U6-U13 - PRE-ACADEMY DEVELOPMENTAL POOL
A hallmark of any great program is the ability to train and develop players from within your own system.  For over a decade ISA has proven its ability to train and develop players from the ages of 6 years old through the ranks of professional soccer.  ISA invests a tremendous amount of resources into the training of its pre-academy players with the intention and hope of graduating many of these players up to the full Academy program.  Through a comprehensive and exhaustive skills program, ISA aims to develop players with SKILL, PERSONALITY, INSIGHT and SPEED.

During these years ISA trains players and teams from a wide variety of soccer clubs across Long Island.

U14-U19 - ACADEMY TEAMS
The focus of the girls U14-U19 academy teams is to expose players to:
1.  quality training and coaching;
2.  competition at the highest level of play;
3.  professional grade soccer facilities;
4.  college scholarship and recruitment opportunities; and
5.  the ODP identification process.

These teams, as appropriate, will compete at some of the nation’s most highly recognized tournaments and showcase events, including the Disney Showcase, PDA Showcase, FC Delco Player’s Cup, WAGS, Jefferson Cup, CASL Raleigh Showcase, US Club Soccer National Championship Series, Region 1 Premier Leagues, and USL Super Y League.

Each team will take a customized approach to tailoring a schedule for the year.  ISA has taken the position that there is an urgent need for seeking QUALITY over QUANTITY.  In keeping our member’s best interests in mind (financially, physically and athletically), we will give our team’s the ability to pick and choose from the event lists.

Perhaps one of the best features of the ISA girls academy program is the opportunity for players of varying ages to join one another on the training ground.  Our centralized training location and schedule gives younger players the opportunity to train with and learn from older and more accomplished academy players.

Goalkeepers have the benefit of specialized goalkeeper training with our ISA staff goalkeeper coaches in addition to the training provided within their individual team environment.

Strikers, Midfielders and Defenders will also have the benefit of specialized functional training for their respective positions to supplement their team’s training program.

Players within the ISA girls academy will be regularly evaluated for promotion to the women’s teams.

U20 WOMEN’S TEAM
In furthering the opportunities for our youth players, a U20 team will serve as a vehicle to help bridge the gap between youth soccer and nationally competitive women’s soccer.  All players will be identified for the U20 team with the specific goal of giving them the training, experience and time necessary to prepare for competition with the senior women’s "W" league team.  This will ensure that players are not rushed into a level of play without proper experience.

WOMEN’S USL "W" LEAGUE TEAM
ISA stand-out youth and collegiate players, along with alumni from the Long Island Rough Rider women’s teams, will serve the top layer of the ISA girls academy program by competing in the Women’s USL "W" League.  This will provide our youth players with something to strive for and give them the opportunity to train and play with accomplished US National and elite college soccer players side by side as they prepare for the rigors of a nationally competitive women’s schedule.
